Informational channels

To guarantee that users receive adequate and punctual communication on its activities, traffic and road conditions, and notices of planned roadworks for the maintenance of its infrastructure, CAV S.p.A. provides multiple information channels.
The Company also collaborates with various media, radio networks and local TV stations to offer useful information to travellers; in addition, if needed and in accordance with emergency situations and service requirements, it provides telephone information on traffic and road conditions through its Operations Centre, by calling +39 041 5497118.
General information on traffic and road conditions on the Italian motorway and road network can be heard on the RAI radio channel, which broadcasts the 'Viaggiare Informati' bulletins offered by the CCISS (Centro di Coordinamento Informazioni sulla Sicurezza Stradale - Road Safety Information Coordination Centre).
Specific information on traffic and road conditions on the motorway areas managed by CAV S.p.A. can be consulted by connecting to the websites www.cavspa.it and www.infoviaggiando.it, or by downloading the free Infoviaggiando app available for smartphones, PCs or tablets. On the infoviaggiando website one can also register to receive e-mails with traffic and road conditions.

Variable Message Signs (VMSs)

CAV provides motorway users with real-time news about road conditions using its 103 variable message signs (VMSs), located along the network it manages and outside it (near access points). The purpose of the messages on the VMSs is to inform the travelling users of any dangerous situations or obligations, informing them in real time about traffic conditions and active roadworks, and notifying them of planned activities such as closures, detours or events taking place. On the Mestre Ring Road, a dedicated information system communicates through the VMSs the obligations concerning the use of the lanes, indicating the state of their viability (open, closed or closing) and the speed limits to be kept based on current traffic conditions.

InfoViaggiando app and website

In order to inform users in real time about traffic and road conditions, scheduled works and the status of services along its appurtenances, CAV S.p.A. uses the ‘InfoViaggiando’ web technology platform, which guarantees an infomobility service that is always up-to-date and active 24 hours a day. Through the website and the InfoViaggiando app (free of charge and available on Android and IOS systems) users are provided, in real time and in both Italian and English, with all useful travel information on the A4 Venezia-Trieste, A4 Venezia-Padova, A4 Mestre Bypass, A4 Brescia-Padova, A23 Palmanova-Udine, A28 Portogruaro-Conegliano, A34 Villesse-Gorizia and A57 Mestre Ring Road, Venice Airport (Tessera) Interchange, A31 Valdastico motorways.

The platform is managed in cooperation with the neighbouring motorway concessionaires Autostrade Alto Adriatico and Autostrada Brescia-Verona-Vicenza-Padova, and enables users to plan their journeys on a wide-ranging basis, consulting at any time the traffic status, traffic bans in force, information on the presence of roadworks or information on any type of event occurring on the motorways managed by the three companies. In the dissemination of news, the traceability of information (including visuals) to each of the concessionaires concerned is ensured.

www.cavspa.it website

The website www.cavspa.it, in addition to providing general information on the organisation and services offered by CAV S.p.A., also offers updates on traffic, road conditions and the presence of roadworks that may result in traffic disruption. A calendar can be consulted on the site, which is updated with forecasts of days of heavy traffic and with an indication of the days on which transit is banned for heavy goods vehicles and exceptional transport. In the ‘Traffic Info’ section, users can view, in real time, footage captured by webcams, which frame the most important motorway junctions and urban crossings. The 'Motorway' section shows the location of service areas, rest areas and Information Desk. Through the site, users can consult the measures issued by CAV S.p.A. (e.g. orders relating to ongoing or planned works) and download forms that can be used for various purposes (e.g. forms for requesting toll invoicing and accident report forms). In addition, in the 'Contact' section you will find the contact details where you can get in case of need and to receive information.

Social Networks

CAV S.p.A. uses the main social media channels available (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X and YouTube) to provide information on its projects, awareness-raising initiatives on environmental issues and road safety, and real-time information on road conditions and traffic with the presence of roadworks and any accidents with a particular impact on road conditions.

CAVhere Information Desk and Service Centre

CAVhere, in which qualified and specifically trained personnel work on customer care operations, groups together all the services dedicated to users, motorway assistance activities, promotion of the local areas, events and tourist information (destinations, events, leisure and outdoor activities, accommodation facilities, catering, local traditions).
